CPS Energy's commitment to renewable energy is second to none. As part of a diversified fuels mix for electrical production, renewable energy -- including wind, solar and landfill gas -- is an important part of our Strategic Energy Plan.
Currently, our renewable energy capacity is equal to 11.2 percent of local peak demand for electrical power. In fact, CPS Energy is one of only a few utility systems nationwide that has surpassed the double-digit percentage mark for renewable energy. We are focused on expanding this commitment, achieving renewable-energy capacity equal to 15 percent of peak demand by 2020.
