Safety Programs

CPS Energy safety programs will inform your employees about the importance of following proper safety procedures around natural gas and electric facilities. Our programs demonstrate the need to develop a healthy respect for these useful yet potentially dangerous forms of energy.

For example, by law excavators are required to notify underground facility owners before beginning construction.  In turn, facility owners must mark existing facilities within 48 hours.  CPS Energy cannot guarantee that utility lines will be at the same depth as originally installed.  So before you begin work near gas or electric lines, call 811 before you dig!

For information such as the location of underground electric and gas facilities, temporary clearances on overhead lines, CPS Energy tree trimming service and 24-hour trouble numbers, do not hesitate to contact CPS Energy for assistance.

For additional information or to schedule a CPS Energy representative to discuss safety with your employees, call (210) 353-2970.
